Adult Fitness & Sports Programs

Our recreation department also offers a variety of classes for the adults in our community. At the recreation center you can catch a quick workout in our weight and cardio room, play a quick game of racquetball or take part in one of our aerobics classes.

The following classes and programs are being offered:

Walk and Weights

Low impact aerobics class focusing on cardio, toning and stretching. The class combines walking for cardio with weighted and non-weighted strength exercises. If you are just getting back into exercise or looking for a great second work out, this is the class for you. This class is great for the intermediate exercise enthusiast.

Sit to Be Fit

Based on Mary Ann Wilson's fitness program. This class is perfect for the individual with limited physical motion. This class actively promotes functional fitness, healing and independence. This class is great for those with limited mobility/ability to exercise.

Men's Basketball

Each spring, the City of Hondo Recreation Department (CHRD) offers a men's basketball league for ages 16 and up. Our league runs approximately 6 weeks with a single elimination tournament at the end of regular season play. Dates for the Men's Basketball League are TBD.
